Weather did not permit outdoor play today, however the playground space was observed. Had a discussion with center management regarding seeding/sodding a section of the playground after the winter season.

Today an unannounced Monitoring Inspection took place between the hours of 10:20am and 1:55pm. At the start of the inspection there were a total of 148 children with 23 staff in 12 classrooms; all ratios were incompliance. The children were observed receiving bottles, washing hands, eating lunch and transitioning to nap. Classroom walls display colorful art projects. The interactions between staff and children were positive in nature. A total of 5 children's files and 6 staff files were reviewed. A sample of 5 medications and authorizations were reviewed. Standard #: 22VAC40-185-160-A Description: Based on record review and interview, each staff member has not submitted documentation of a negative tuberculosis (TB) screening within 21 days of employment.
Evidence: Staff #3 (date of hire: 7/15/2019) file does not contain TB screening results.Plan of Correction: Moving forward Principal will highlight date and reading to ensure results are read and recorded accurately and proper documents are on file. TB test was emailed to inspector on 1/9/2020 with negative reading dated 6/23/2019.
