A Subsidy Health and Safety Inspection (SHSI) was conducted today from 9:25am through 11:00am to review supplemental health and safety requirements. A total of 33 children were present with 3 caregivers. The children were engaged in the following: making Chinese lanterns, learning about Chinese New Year, washing hands, eating snack, and playing outside. Programming, menus, emergency procedures, the physical plant, 6 medications, allergy action plans, and 6 children's records and 3 staff records were reviewed and found to be in compliance.
A licensing inspection was conducted on the same date as the SHSI supplemental inspection; the two inspections combined cover all subsidy health and safety requirements. Only subsidy requirements that are not covered in licensing standards are reviewed during this supplemental inspection.
