Comments:
An unannounced monitoring inspection was conducted today from 8:30am-9:30am. At the beginning of this inspection there were 27 children directly supervised by 2 staff. The physical plant, 4 staff training records, 5 children?s records, medications, evacuation drills, injury reports, emergency supplies, and policies were inspected. Children were observed participating in arriving for the morning program, reading books, playing blocks and games, and making pancakes. Staff were observed helping children with pancake making, welcoming children and parents, and facilitating smooth transitions from the classroom to the gymnasium. There was an assortment of age appropriate materials for the children in care. The center was clean and organized. Areas of non-compliance are identified in the Violation Notice.

Description: Based on a review of medication, the center did not have policies in place to prevent the administration of outdated medication.
Evidence:
The emergency medication for Child 4 expired in December of 2019.

Plan of Correction: We will ask the parents for updated medication.
