Consultation provided on making sure play equipment on the playground is maintained 6 feet apart. Please document Lock-down and shelter in place drills separately.

An unannounced renewal study was conducted today from 12 noon until 3 pm with the director, who was present with 4 additional staff and 32 children.Most of who were on their cots for nap time. Some of the schoolagers were present due to teacher workday and they were watching a movie and the infants were crawling around on the floor.
One child had emergency medication on site. Three staff files and eight children's files were reviewed today. Part of the playground is in the process of undergoing renovations.
Please provide documentation of the completion of the central registry finding by 2/7/20.

Standard #: 22VAC40-185-420-E-3 Description: Based on a review of six children's files, it was determined that the center had not obtained annual updates for two children ( child A, enrolled on 3/20/17) and ( child B, enrolled on 11/16). Plan of Correction: We will audit the children's files and get the updates.
Standard #: 22VAC40-185-510-G Description: Based on medication review, the center failed to have a staff member that was trained in rectal medication administration.
Evidence:
One medication was on site, Diazepam rectal medication for child C. An interview with the director revealed that no staff is trained in rectal medication administration.Plan of Correction: The medication will be returned to the parent until we can have a staff member trained in administering rectal medicaiton. We will not accept rectal medication until staff have been trained.
Standard #: 22VAC40-191-60-C-2 Description: Based on a review of three staff files and an interview with the director,it was determined that the central registry fining was not obtained within 30 days of employment for one staff.
Evidence:
Staff A was hired on 11/25/19 and the request for the central registry finding was not requested until 12/10/19 , which was not within 7 business days as required. The background check has not been received.Plan of Correction: Unfortunately I did not mail off this background check until 12/10/19, however I did call and check on the status on 12/27/19 and unfortunately they are behind in doing the background check. I will remember to send the central registry check off within 7 business days.
