Standard #: 22VAC40-185-330-B Description: Based on observation and measurement, the center failed to have 6 inches of resilient surfacing in areas on the preschool playground.
1. The inspector observed the preschool playground. There was approximately 3 to 4 inches of resilient surfacing (mulch) surrounding the mats at the base of the climber. Fall height of the equipment is approximately 4 feet.
Plan of Correction: Staff will rake additional mulch from under the slides into these areas. Additional mats and mulch will be purchased and placed in these areas on the playground. Staff will monitor the resilient surfacing to ensure it remains at 6 inches in depth.
