- Technical Assistance:
An unannounced renewal inspection was conducted on January 23, 2020 from approximately 3:45 PM to 6:15 PM to determine the center's compliance with licensing standards. The child to staff ratios were deemed in compliance with licensing standards. The following staff-to-child ratios were observed in the classrooms: Cougar Quest 7:49, Kinder Quest 3:24, Middle School Quest 2:25. The staff were observed to be engaged with the children in age appropriate activities and to be meeting the needs of the children in care. Most but not all areas of the facility were inspected. The facility had the required postings in the facility. The first aid kit and non-medical emergency supplies were inspected and found complete. The last evacuation drill was conducted on 1/20/20. The last shelter-in-place drill was conducted on 1/3/20. The Emergency Preparedness plan is current. Medications and authorizations were reviewed. There were staff present who are certified in medication administration, daily health observation, First Aid, and CPR. Nine children's records, nine staff records, and five agent records were reviewed. If you have any questions about this inspection, please contact the licensing inspector at (804) 662-9092.
Standard #: 63.2(17)-1721.1-B-2 Description: Based on review of five agent records, the center did not obtain a national fingerprint-based criminal history record check for four of the listed agents. Evidence: The records for Agent #1, Agent #3, Agent #4, and Agent #5 did not contain documentation of a national fingerprint-based criminal history record check. A statement of eligibility based on a national fingerprint-based criminal history record check was required to be obtained prior to 9/30/2018. Plan of Correction: Administration will ensure the fingerprint-based criminal history record checks are initiated and the documentation will be provided to licensing within the required timeframes.
A compliance history is in no way a rating for a facility.

In addition, the online compliance history includes information regarding adverse actions that may be the subject of a pending appeal. An adverse action is not final until a provider has exhausted or waived all due process rights. For compliance history prior to July 1, 2003, or information regarding the status of pending adverse actions, please contact the Licensing Inspector listed in the facility's information.
