Technical assistance was provided regarding lead teacher qualifications, medication, and lunches.
- Comments:

An unannounced monitoring inspection was conducted today from 11:30am-1:15pm. There were 33 children directly supervised by 7 staff. The physical plant, 5 staff records, 5 children?s records, evacuation drills, injury reports, emergency supplies, and policies were inspected. Children were observed following a stretching video and singing along with the Korean songs. A group of children were observed discussing the characteristics of snowflakes and how the "snow slime" they made together resembled snow. Infants were observed preparing to eat and later on sleeping on cots.
Children lined up at the bathrooms to wash hands before and after lunch. This transition was orderly, systematic and seemed to be part of the routine. There was a supply of materials for the children. Areas of non-compliance are identified in the Violation Notice.

Evidence:
1) Child 1 is missing a start date.
2) Child 2 is missing two parent work phone numbers.Plan of Correction: We will ask the parents for information.
Standard #: 22VAC40-185-70-A Description: Based on record review, each staff file did not contain all required information.
Evidence: Staff 1 and 2 did not have a start date documented.Plan of Correction: We will write down the start dates.
Standard #: 22VAC40-185-210-A-4 Description: Based on record review, lead teachers did not meet the all the requirements for their position.
Evidence: In the infant class, Staff 2 has not completed the 24 hours of training required to meet the lead teacher requirement.Plan of Correction: The teacher is currently working to complete the hours of training.
Standard #: 22VAC40-185-340-D Description: Based on observation and record review, in each grouping of children there is not atleast one staff member who meets the qualification of a program leader present.
Evidence: In the infant classroom, there is not atleast one staff member who meets the qualifications of a program leader.Plan of Correction: The teacher is working on completing the requirements to become a lead teacher.
