An unannounced complaint inspection was made on 1/23/2020. A complaint was received from the online reporting system on 1/7/2020 about the infant room being out of ratio on 1/6/2020. The attendance records and staff time cards were reviewed for this date. Staff who work in the infant room and the director were interviewed. Based on this investigation, the complaint was determined not valid.
There were violations observed during the inspection not related to the complaint. The complaint inspection was completed on 2/6/2020 and sent to the provider via email on that date.

Standard #: 22VAC40-185-500-A Complaint related: No Description: Based on observation, the center failed to ensure that hand washing was practiced as required.
Evidence:
1. Two infants were observed to feed themselves a bottle. The infants did not have their hands washed before eating from the bottles. The infants were 13 months and 17 months old.
2. One staff person was observed to prepare a bottle and did not wash her hands prior to preparing the bottle.Plan of Correction: Staff were reminded of proper hand washing procedures.
Standard #: 22VAC40-80-120-E-2 Complaint related: No Description: Based on observation, the center failed to ensure that the findings of the most recent inspection of the facility was posted.
Evidence:
1. The "Violation Notice" which is the report that lists the findings from the most recent inspection was not posted for the most recent inspection dated 1/2/2020.Plan of Correction: The "Violation Notice" will be posted.
