An unannounced Subsidy Health and Safety (SHSI) Inspection was conducted on February 4, 2020, from approximately 1:00 pm to 4:45 pm. A licensing inspection was conducted on the same date as the SHSI supplemental inspection; the two inspections combined cover the Subsidy Health and Safety requirements. Only subsidy requirements that are not covered in licensing standards are reviewed during this supplemental inspection. Areas of non-compliance were noted on the violation notice and reviewed with the center director during the exit interview. Please contact the licensing inspector with any questions (757) 404-0568.

Standard #: 22VAC40-665-760-A-1 Description: Based on observation and vendor interviews, the vendor did not ensure that all required items were in the first aid kit.
Evidence: There was not an ice pack available for the first aid for the Program Center or for the Main Building.Plan of Correction: The center director will have the proper ice packs /disposable type by Friday
Standard #: 22VAC40-665-780-A-3 Description: Based on documentation review and vendor interviews, the vendor did not ensure that lockdown procedures shall be practiced at least annually.
Evidence: There was not documentation of a lockdown drill conducted. The center director confirmed the drill had not been conducted in 2019.Plan of Correction: The center director will work with center services childcare team to provide for proper procedure for 2020.
