Comments:
An unannounced monitoring inspection was conducted today from 7:20 am-8:30 am. At the beginning of this inspection there were 18 children present with 3 staff. The physical plant, 3 staff records, 4 children?s records, medications, evacuation drills, injury reports, emergency supplies, and policies were inspected. Children were observed being greeted by staff as they arrived to the program, playing fooze-ball, reading coloring, playing in the gym and eating breakfast. There was an assortment of age appropriate materials for the children in care. The center was clean and organized. Areas of non-compliance are identified in the Violation Notice.

Standard #: 22VAC40-185-510-C
Description: Based on a review, of medication, the center did not have procedures in place to prevent the administration of outdated medication.
Evidence:
The emergency medication for Child 4 has an expiration date of January 2020.

Plan of Correction: We will ask the parents for non expired medication.

Standard #: 22VAC40-185-550-D
Description: Based on record review, an emergency evacuation drill was not practiced monthly.
Evidence:
No evacuation drill was conducted for January 2020.

Plan of Correction: We will resume practicing evacuation drills.
