Technical Assistance:
Expired medication was observed on site today; program supervisor was reminded that expired medication cannot be administered.

Comments:
Today an unannounced Renewal Inspection took place between the hours of 2:50pm and 4:45pm. There was 1 room observed with a total of 32 children with 2 staff within the supervision guidelines. The children were observed playing freely with various organized activities, using their tablets, washing hands, eating snack (mini cinnamon rolls with juice) and going home with their parents. A complete inspection of the physical plant, children and staff records, fire drill log, 6 medications and emergency procedures were observed during this inspection. Violations:
Standard #: 22VAC40-185-140-A
Description: Based on record review, each child did not have a physical exam.
Evidence: Child #3 file did not contain a physical exam.

Plan of Correction: I'll tell the parents that they need to contact our office to provide the form.

Standard #: 22VAC40-185-540-E
Description: Based on observation, not all nonmedical emergency supplies was available.
Evidence: The center did not have a working battery operated radio.

Plan of Correction: I'll get one as soon as possible.

Standard #: 22VAC40-185-560-K
Description: Based on observation, tables were not sanitized before each use for feeding.
Evidence: Children were observed playing various organized activities at three tables. The children left the tables to wash their hands prior to eating and returned to the tables with their snacks. The tables were not sanitized prior to the children sitting down to eat.

Plan of Correction: We do it. We forgot because licensing was here. We will remember tomorrow.
