Comments:

An unannounced monitoring inspection was conducted today from 9:00 am until 12:00 pm. There wer 23 children present with 6 staff members. The children were observed hand washing and eating morning snack which consisted of crackers, bananas and water. The children were also observed doing map work,, tracing work and working with kinetic sand. The physical plant, children's records, staff records, attendance records, evacuation records, cots, lunchboxes, supplies, emergency supplies and medications were inspected. Standard #:	22VAC40-185-70-A
Description:	Based on a review of staff records, the center failed to maintain documentation of required staff records. Evidence: Staff #2's records do not have documentation of emergency contacts.
Plan of Correction:	Corrected during inspection.
Standard #:	22VAC40-185-240-A
Description:	Based on a review of staff records, the center did not ensure that staff shall receive the following traiing by the end of their first day of assuming job responsibilities, recognizing child abuse and neglect and the legal requirements for reporting suspected child abuse as required by the Code of Virginia. Evidence: Staff #2 and #3's records do not have documentation of training titled" Recognizing Suspected Child Abuse and Neglect".
Plan of Correction:	Staff #2 will complete training. Staff #3 has completed training and will bring in certificate.
Standard #:	22VAC40-185-280-B
Description:	Based on observation, the center failed to ensure that hazardous substances such as cleaning materials shall be kept in a locked place using a safe locking method that prevents access by children. Evidence: 1. In the napping room bathroom, there was disinfecting spray, bleach water and Lavender Oil in an unlocked cabinet. 2. In the laundry area there was laundry detergent in an unlocked cabinet

Description:	Based on observation,a purse was found accessible to children. Evidence: Two purses were found in an open unlocked closet accessible to children.

Standard #:	22VAC40-185-560-G
Description:	Based on observation, when food is brought from home, the container shall be sealed and clearly dated and labeled in a way that identified the owner. Evidence: For the Primary Class 11 lunchboxes contained a date but no name and one lunchbox had a name but no date.
Plan of Correction:	We will remind parents to put children's names on lunchboxes and if they forget, teachers will add names to lunchboxes.
