An unannounced monitoring inspection was conducted of the before school program. The program runs 6:00 am -8:30 am. There were 29 children in care with 3 staff present. The youngest child in care was 5 years-old. The center is not administering medication at this time.

Standard #: 22VAC40-185-260-A Description: Based on a record review and interviews, the center did not ensure there was an annual fire inspection.
Evidence:
The last last fire inspection at the center was dated 10/29/18. The director and custodian of the school confirmed the fire marshal had not been out to the facility this year.Plan of Correction: The following plan of correction was provided by the director during the exit interview:
The director will contact the fire marshal today and schedule an inspection. The inspection will be forwarded to the inspector once received.

The center's first aid kit did not have an instructional manual.Plan of Correction: The following corrective action was provided by the program director during the exit interview:
The director is sure she purchased manuals for the first aid kits. If the director is unable to find it, a new one will be purchased and placed in the kit.
