Comments:
An unannounced monitoring inspection was conducted of the before school program. The program runs 6:00 am -8:30 am. There were 29 children in care with 3 staff present. The youngest child in care was 5 years-old. The center is not administering medication at this time.

Violations:
Standard #: 22VAC40-185-260-A
Description: Based on a record review and interviews, the center did not ensure there was an annual fire inspection.
Evidence:
The last last fire inspection at the center was dated 10/29/18. The director and custodian of the school confirmed the fire marshal had not been out to the facility this year.

Plan of Correction: The following plan of correction was provided by the director during the exit interview:
The director will contact the fire marshal today and schedule an inspection. The inspection will be forwarded to the inspector once received.

Description: Based on a record review the center did not ensure all required items were in the first aid kit.
Evidence:
The center's first aid kit did not have an instructional manual.

Plan of Correction: The following corrective action was provided by the program director during the exit interview:
The director is sure she purchased manuals for the first aid kits. If the director is unable to find it, a new one will be purchased and placed in the kit.
