A Subsidy Health and Safety Inspection (SHSI) was conducted today from 12:20pm through 2:35pm to review supplemental health and safety requirements. A total of 59 children were present with 9 caregivers. The children were observed napping and infants were observed napping and playing with staff. Programming, menus, emergency procedures, 5 medications, allergy action plans, and 7 children's records and 5 staff records were reviewed. All staff files reviewed contained documentation of current CPR/First Aid certification and adequate staff on site are trained in Medication Administration Training and Daily Health Observation Training.
A licensing inspection was conducted on the same date as the SHSI supplemental inspection; the two inspections combined cover all subsidy health and safety requirements. Only subsidy requirements that are not covered in licensing standards are reviewed during this supplemental inspection.
