An unannounced monitoring inspection was conducted from 12:50 pm- 4:15pm. At the time of entrance, 35 children were in care with 6 staff members present. Children were observed during naptime, completing puzzles, coloring, and engaging in free play. Toileting and diapering were also observed. A selection of 5 staff and 5 children records, the physical space, emergency supplies, evacuation drills, and attendance records were reviewed. Areas of non-compliance are identified in the violation notice. A subsidy health and safety inspection (SHSI) was also conducted on this day. Evidence:
Child #1 began care on 1/03/2020 . The physical exam maintained was dated 8/14/2018. The physical examination for this child was not obtained within 12 months of attendance.Plan of Correction: Parent was contacted during inspection.
Standard #: 22VAC40-185-500-A Description: Based on observation, one staff did not wash their hands with soap and running water before and after a diaper change.
Evidence:
In the infant room, staff was observed changing one child's diaper. After completing the diaper change, the staff did not wash the child's or staff's hands.Plan of Correction: Corrected during inspection.
