An unannounced Monitoring inspection was conducted in the Center on February 27. 2020. The LI arrived to the program at approximately 8 AM and departed at 11:00 AM . The LI observed 42 children grouped in 4 classrooms. The ages of the children ranged from 3 months to 5 years. The children were observed during arrival, breakfast, free play circle time, and art.
A sample of 5 children's records was reviewed. Medications were observed in the center. Documentation of the annual fire and health inspections was current. Staff records were reviewed at a previous inspection and are current.
Standard #: 22VAC40-185-140-A Description: Based on review of five children's records, the center failed to ensure that all children had a physical exam.
1. Child # 2 did not have a physical exam in the record, The child had a wellness form that states what the child should be doing at a certain age. The child's start date was 10/9/2019.
Plan of Correction: The FSW will obtain the correct physical for the child and will monitor all records.
Standard #: 22VAC40-185-280-B Description: Based on observation, the center failed to ensure that all chemicals that were not locked.
1. In the infant room there was a spray container of disinfectant sitting on the counter beside the diapering areas that was unlocked.
Plan of Correction: The teachers removed the chemical and locked it during the inspection. The staff will monitor.
