The local agency representative and licensing inspector conducted an unannounced complaint inspection in response to a complaint that was received by the licensing department on 12/27/2019 regarding allegations of programs and staffing and supervision. On 01/07/2020, the licensing inspector was on site between 10:00 am to 12:20 pm. During the inspection, interviews with staff were completed, observations were made in the center, records and pertinent documentation was reviewed. The preponderance of the evidence gathered during the investigation does not support the allegation; therefore, the complaint is determined to be not valid. However, a violation was cited please review violation notice for further details. Standard #: 22VAC40-665-550-2 Description: Based on interview , the center did not inform the department's representative as soon as practicable, but not more than two business days, of any injury to a child while under the vendor's supervision when a referral is made for treatment from a medical professional.
Evidence: During the inspection on 01/07/2020, the interviews revealed there were two separate incidents resulting in injuries sustained by Child#1 on 12/11/19 and Child#2 on 12/27/19 at the center which required treatment from a medical professional. Interviews confirmed knowledge of both incidents at the center requiring medical treatment and the department's representative were not informed.Plan of Correction: The center will inform the DSS of any emergency injuries to a child within two business days of the incident.
