An unannounced monitoring inspection was conducted with center director and staff on March 4, 2020 to determine compliance with licensing standards. There were 33 preschool children with four staff actively supervising. The children were eating lunch and preparing for rest. Lunch served today: spaghetti with meat sauce, pineapple, milk, cabbage, and a roll. Five staff files and six children's files were reviewed - please see Supplemental Summary for details. Seven emergency medications for six children were reviewed. The last health inspection was conducted 10/28/2019. Standard #: 22VAC40-185-510-N Description: Based on review of medications, the facility failed to notify the parent that the medication needs to picked up within 14 days or the parent must renew the authorization when the authorization to administer medication expires. Evidence: The medication authorization for an emergency medication for Child 1 expired 2/14/2020, the authorization for Child 2 expired 2/18/2020, the authorization for Child 4 expired 2/15/2020, and the authorization for Child 5 expired 2/18/2020. Plan of Correction: Center director will notify parents that the medication needs to be picked up or another long term medication authorization will be provided.
