Comments:
Today an unannounced Renewal Inspection took place between the hours of 11:50am and 2:45pm. There were 7 classrooms observed with a total of 82 children with 11 staff within the supervision guidelines. The children were observed napping during today's inspection. A complete inspection of the physical plant, children and staff records, fire drill log, medication and emergency procedures were observed during this inspection. Violations:
Standard #: 22VAC40-185-440-E
Description: Based on observation, there were not at least 12 inches of space between occupied cots.
Evidence: There were several occupied cots in the Discovery Preschool classroom that were observed to have approximately 6-8 inches of space in between one another.

Plan of Correction: This was corrected during the inspection. I'll retrain staff on appropriate cot placement.

Standard #: 22VAC40-185-510-J
Description: Based on observation, medication was not kept in a locked place using a safe locking method that prevents access by children.
Evidence: Child #7 medication was observed in a safety lock bag, however the zipper on the bag was broken and the bag was not sealed.

Plan of Correction: This was corrected during the inspection.
