An unannounced monitoring inspection was conducted today. There were 48 children in care, with a total of 11 staff members assigned to their direct supervision. Children's records, new staff records, new staff training, new staff background checks, administrative records, the physical plant, children's nutrition, emergency preparedness items, classroom materials and interactions, and children's medications were inspected today.
The children were observed playing outside, enjoying circle time discussions, eating lunch, and taking their afternoon nap.
The children were served roasted chicken, peas/carrots, apple slices, and milk for lunch today.

Standard #: 22VAC40-185-40-G Description: Based on a review of children's records, it was determined that the center did not meet the proof of child identity and age requirements as required.
Evidence:
Center staff have not viewed the original proof of identification for child E.Plan of Correction: We received a photo copy of the child's proof of birth letter and were waiting for the parent to get the birth certificate. I will ask the parent to show me the original birth letter and document it in the file.
