Thank you for your time and assistance with the unannounced monitoring inspection conducted today, March 09, 2020. The on-site inspection was conducted 11:45 a.m. to 2:05 p.m. On this date, there were 15 children in the care of two staff members in one classroom. There were a total of 19 children enrolled in the preschool program. Staff records were reviewed on September 16, 2019 at the MACAA Administration Office and there have been no changes in the staff since that time. There were five children's records reviewed. There were no violations of the licensing standards found. There were two staff members and three children interviewed. No medications were on-site or being administered at the time of the inspection. The class was studying Buildings and the children enjoyed talking about the concrete they found while outside. The children were excited about a rock candy science experiment they did today. Afternoon snack consisted of granola bars and juice. Some items observed and reviewed during the inspection included: injury reports, documentation of evacuation and shelter-in-place drills, first-aid kit and emergency supplies, current health and fire inspections, required posted information, updated emergency preparedness plan, outdoor play, transitioning from outside to the classroom, bathroom and hand washing procedures, calendar, circle time, story time, discussions about buildings, nap time, and afternoon snack.
