Comments:
This inspection was conducted by licensing staff using an alternate remote protocol, necessary due to a state of emergency health pandemic declared by the Governor of Virginia.

A renewal inspection was initiated on 5/11/2020 and concluded on 5/11/2020. The director was contacted by telephone to initiate the inspection. There were no children present and no staff. The inspector emailed the director a list of items required to complete the inspection. The inspector reviewed two children's records and one staff record submitted by the facility to ensure documentation was complete.

Information gathered during the inspection determined non-compliance with applicable standards or law and violations were documented on the violation notice issued to the facility.

Violations:
Standard #: 22VAC40-185-550-E
Description: Based on record review and interview, the center has not maintained a record of the dates of practiced drills.
Evidence: There is no evacuation drill documented for the month of January. Center management stated that the drill was practiced but not documented.

Plan of Correction: The center has already started documenting all the drills from February 2020 and will continue doing so.
