Technical Assistance:
Reminder: All staff are required to obtain 16 hours of training annually.

Comments:
This inspection was conducted by licensing staff using an alternate remote protocol, necessary due to a state of emergency health pandemic declared by the Governor of Virginia.

A renewal inspection was initiated on May 12th, 2020 and was concluded May 12th, 2020. The Director was contacted by telephone to initiate the inspection. There were 0 children present 0 staff. The inspector emailed the Director a list of items required to complete the inspection. The Inspector reviewed 4 children's records and 4 staff records submitted by the facility to ensure documentation was complete.

Information gathered during the inspection determined non compliance with applicable standards or low and violations were documented on the violation notice issued to the facility.

The Licensing Inspector has reviewed with the provider COVID-19 Essential Guidance for Child Care Programs.

Violations:
Standard #: 22VAC40-185-70-A
Description: Based on a review of staff records, the center failed to maintain complete documentation of staff records.

Evidence:
Staff member #2's record contained only documentation of one reference check.

Plan of Correction: I will obtain a 2nd reference check for employee.

Standard #: 22VAC40-185-550-D
Description: Based on a review of evacuation drill log, the center failed to ensure that an evacuation drill was practiced each month and a minimum of two shelter in place drills where practiced each year.

Evidence:
The center could not provide documentation that evacuation drills were practiced monthly. For building # 3809 documentation was missing for November 2019, January 2020 and February 2020. The center did not have documentation of shelter in place drills for either building.

Plan of Correction: Administration will work closely with teacher to ensure that timely and accurate documentation of evacuation practiced drills occurs.
