This inspection was conducted by licensing staff using an alternate remote protocol, necessary due to a state of emergency health pandemic declared by the Governor of Virginia.
A monitoring inspection was initiated on 05/18/2020 and concluded on 05/21/2020. The director was contacted by telephone to initiate the inspection. There were 37 children present and 8 staff. The inspector emailed the director/provider a list of items required to complete the inspection. The Inspector reviewed 3 children?s records and 2 staff records submitted by the facility to ensure documentation was complete. Information gathered during the inspection determined non-compliance(s) with applicable standards or law and violations were documented on the violation notice issued to the facility.

Standard #: 22VAC40-191-60-C-2 Description: Based on a record review the center did not ensure all staff had a central registry check within 30 days of employment.
Evidence:
Staff #2, hired 02/18/20 did not have the results of a central registry check. The director confirmed it had been sent off, but results have never been received.Plan of Correction: The following corrective action was provided by the licensee:
This registry was resent on 5/21/2020 and a copy is in the file. Management will ensure that all new hire paperwork is completed prior to the staff member beginning employment. Management will conduct frequent inspections of employee files to ensure that all paperwork is compliant. District Manager will periodically check.
