This inspection was conducted by licensing staff using an alternate remote protocol, necessary due to a state of emergency health pandemic declared by the Governor of Virginia.
A monitoring inspection was initiated on 05/19/2020 and concluded on 05/20/2020. The director was contacted by telephone to initiate the inspection. There were 60 children present and 12 staff. The inspector emailed the director a list of items required to complete the inspection. The Inspector reviewed 4 children?s records and 4 staff records submitted by the facility to ensure documentation was complete.
Information gathered during the inspection determined non-compliance with applicable standards or law and violations were documented on the violation notice issued to the facility.
The Licensing Inspector has reviewed with the provider COVID-19 Essential Guidance for Child Care programs.
Standard #: 63.2(17)-1720.1-B-2 Description: Based on review of documentation and interview, the center failed to ensure fingerprint background checks were conducted for all current employees.
1. Employee #3 (DOH: 02/02/2018) did not complete a fingerprint based criminal background check prior to hire.
2. Administration confirmed that the employee had not completed a fingerprint background check.
Plan of Correction: Immediately upon discovery, the staff member made an appointment to conduct the fingerprint search.
