This inspection was conducted by licensing staff using an alternate remote protocol, necessary due to a state of emergency health pandemic declared by the Governor of Virginia.
A monitoring inspection was initiated on June 1, 2020 and concluded on June 1, 2020. The director was contacted by telephone to initiate the inspection. There were 15 children present and three staff. The inspector emailed the director a list of items required to complete the inspection. The Inspector reviewed two children?s records and two staff records submitted by the facility to ensure documentation was complete.
Information gathered during the inspection determined non-compliance(s) with applicable standards or law and violations were documented on the violation notice issued to the facility.

Standard #: 63.2(17)-1720.1-B-3 Description: Based on review of documentation and interview, the center did not obtain a copy of the results of a search of the central registry maintained pursuant to ? 63.2-1515 and any child abuse and neglect registry or equivalent registry maintained by any other state in which the individual has resided in the preceding five years.
Evidence:
1. Staff #1, hired 12/09/2019, indicated on her application she had lived outside of Virginia in the past five years.
2. The director stated she had not requested an out of state abuse and neglect search.Plan of Correction: Per the director: I am now completing the out of state search request for staff #1 and will send it off today.
