1. Current COVID-19 health and safety guidelines were reviewed, and the Director shared the extensive enhanced practices they plan to implement when the program reopens.
2. Plans to install a new outdoor playground this summer are on schedule.
3. The existing license to operate expires on 7/13/20, and the program director reported that she is in the process of submitting the renewal application, and is aware that submission is due prior to the expiration date.
This inspection was conducted by licensing staff using an alternative remote protocol, necessary due to a state of emergency health pandemic declared by the Governor of Virginia. An on-site inspection of the facility was not conducted at this time.
A scheduled renewal inspection was completed on 6/16/20, The program director was contacted by phone to initiate the inspection. There were no children or staff present, as the program has been temporarily closed since mid-March 2020, due to the health pandemic. The inspector emailed the program director a list of items required to complete the inspection, and from that information submitted, the inspector reviewed 2 child records, 2 staff records, and operational records to ensure documentation was complete. Information gathered during the inspection determined one area of non-compliance with applicable standards or laws, which has been documented on the violation notice issued.
