This inspection was conducted by licensing staff using an alternate remote protocol, necessary due to a state of emergency health pandemic declared by the Governor of Virginia.
A monitoring inspection was initiated on Wednesday, June 17, 2020 and concluded on Wednesday, June 24, 2020. The director was contacted by telephone to initiate the inspection. There were no children and staff present due to the program closure. The inspector emailed the director/provider a list of items required to complete the inspection. The Inspector reviewed 3 children?s records and 1 staff records submitted by the facility to ensure documentation was complete.Information gathered during the inspection determined non-compliance(s) with applicable standards or law and violations were documented on the violation notice issued to the facility. The Licensing Inspector has reviewed with the provider COVID-19 Essential Guidance for Child Care programs. Standard #: 22VAC40-185-260-A Description: Based on review of documentation and interview with staff, the center did not ensure to obtain an annual fire inspection report.
Evidence: The center's fire inspection report was dated 11/28/18.
Interview with staff confirmed the report reviewed was the most recent report available during the inspection.
Plan of Correction: The program will contact fire department to schedule inspection prior to children returning to school.
Standard #: 22VAC40-185-260-B Description: Based on review of documentation and interview with staff, the center did not ensure to obtain an annual health inspection.
Evidence: During the inspection, the center's health inspection was dated 11/19/18.
Interview with staff confirmed the health report available was the most recent inspection available for review.
Plan of Correction: The program will contact Aberdeen Elementary School staff to notify them the inspection is outdated and another inspection is needed to stay in compliance with state licensing.
