This inspection was conducted by licensing staff using an alternative remote protocol, necessary due to a state of emergency health pandemic declared by the Governor of Virginia. An on-site inspection was not conducted at this time.
A renewal inspection was completed on 6/23/20, The program director was contacted by phone to initiate the inspection. There were no children or staff present, as the program has temporarily closed due to the health pandemic. The inspector emailed the program director a list of items required to complete the inspection, and from that information submitted by the provider, the inspector reviewed 2 child records, 2 staff records, and other operational records to ensure documentation was complete. Information gathered during the inspection determined one area of non-compliance with applicable standards or laws, which has been documented on the violation notice issued to the provider. Standard #: 22VAC40-185-550-D Description: Based on records reviewed, it was determined that a monthly emergency evacuation drill was not conducted. Evidence: There was no record that a drill was conducted in February 2020. Plan of Correction: The school does plan and intends to practice monthly drills.
