This inspection was conducted by licensing staff using an alternate remote protocol, necessary due to a state of emergency health pandemic declared by the Governor of Virginia.
A monitoring inspection was initiated on June 29, 2020 and concluded on June 29, 2020. The director was contacted by telephone to initiate the inspection at 10:45 a.m. A video inspection was conducted beginning at 11:15 a.m. There were 87 children present and 13 staff. Infants were observed being held and having playtime on the floor. Toddlers were observed playing with blocks and puzzles. Two year olds were observed at various centers and reading books. Three and four year olds were observed at centers that included painting and home living. Five year olds were observed during lunch. Lunch today was turkey, rice and cheese, peas, pineapple and milk. School age classes were observed during different physical activities including outdoor play. The inspector emailed the director a list of items required to complete the inspection. The Inspector reviewed six children?s records and five staff records submitted by the facility to ensure documentation was complete. Emergency drills were up to date and the weekly menu was reviewed.
The information gathered during the inspection determined no violations with applicable standards or law. No violations were issued.
The Licensing Inspector has reviewed with the provider COVID-19 Essential Guidance for Child Care programs.
