This inspection was conducted by licensing staff using an alternative remote protocol, necessary due to a state of emergency health pandemic declared by the Governor of Virginia.
A monitoring inspection was initiated on 07/10/2020 and concluded on 07/13/2020. The provider was contacted by telephone to initiate the inspection. There were 21 children and 6 staff members present during the inspection. The inspector reviewed 3 children's records and 3 staff records during the inspection to ensure documentation was complete. Information gathered during the inspection determined non-compliance(s) with applicable standards or law and violations were documented on the violation notice issued to the facility.
The Licensing Inspector has reviewed with the provider COVID-19 Essential Guidance for Child Care programs.

Standard #: 22VAC40-185-70-A Description: Based on record review and discussion with staff, the facility failed to ensure that staff records shall contain all of the elements as required by the standards.
Evidence: The record for Staff #1 did not contain the following information: documentation that two or more references as to character and reputation as well as competency were checked before employment and the health information as required by the standards.Plan of Correction: The program director will verify references and will request a copy of the TB test.
