This inspection was conducted by licensing staff using an alternate remote protocol, necessary due to a state emergency health pandemic declared by the Governor of Virginia.
A monitoring inspection was initiated on July 21, 2020 and concluded on July 21, 2020. The director or in-charge person was contacted by telephone to initiate the inspection. There were thirty-five children present and nine staff. The inspector emailed the director a list of items required to complete the inspection. The Inspector reviewed five children?s records and five staff records submitted by the facility to ensure documentation was complete.
Information gathered during the inspection determined non-compliance(s) with applicable standards or law and violations were documented on the violation notice issued to the facility.
Please complete the "plan of correction" and "date to be corrected" for each violation cited on the violation notice and returned it to me within 10 calendar days from today. You will need to specify how the deficient practice will be or has been corrected. Just writing the word "corrected" is not acceptable. Your plan of correction must contain: 1) steps to correct the noncompliance with the standard (s), 2) measures to prevent the noncompliance from occurring again, and 3) person(s) responsible for implementing each step and/or monitoring any preventive measure(s).

Standard #: 22VAC40-185-550-D Description: Based on review of evacuation drills, the center failed to complete a practice evacuation drill monthly.
Evidence:
1. The documented evacuation drills were March 2020 and May 2020. There was not a practice drill documented for April 2020.
2. Staff verified there was not a practice drill conducted in April 2020.Plan of Correction: The director forgot to complete an evacuation practice drill in April 2020. The director has placed on her calendar dates to set the evacuation practice drills.
