This inspection was conducted by licensing staff using an alternate remote protocol, necessary due to a state of emergency health pandemic declared by the Governor of Virginia.
A monitoring inspection was initiated on 7/27/2020 and concluded on 8/3/2020. The Director was contacted by telephone to initiate the inspection. There were 9 children present with 5 staff. The inspector emailed the Director a list of items required to complete the inspection. The inspector reviewed 2 children?s records and 2 staff records submitted by the facility to ensure documentation was complete.
The information gathered during the inspection determined non-compliance with applicable standards or laws and violations were documented on the violation notice issued to the facility.
The licensing inspector has reviewed with the Provider COVID-19 Essential Guidance for Child Care programs.

Standard #: 22VAC40-185-60-A Description: Based on record review and interview, children's records do not contain all required information.
Evidence: Child #1 (date of enrollment: 1/10/2020) file does not contain documentation that the child's age and identity has been verified. The Director has confirmed that the child's birth certificate has not been provided for review.Plan of Correction: The parent was notified and the birth certificate was provided.
Standard #: 22VAC40-191-60-C-2 Description: Based on interview, central registry background check results were not obtained for each employee within the first 30 days of employment.
Evidence: The program Director stated that Staff #1 (date of hire: 6/8/2020) file does not contain the results of a central registry background check.Plan of Correction: The background check was put into the mail 7/28/2020. We should have the results soon.
