The Licensing Inspector has reviewed with the provider COVID-19 Essential Guidance for Child Care programs.
Please review the memo sent out to all licensed facilities, dated - 06/26/2020 on the subject of 2020 Legislative Implementation. Please pay close attention to Senate Bill 668 with regards to staff who currently live out of state or who have lived out of state within the past (5) years.

This inspection was conducted by licensing staff using an alternate remote protocol, necessary due to a state of emergency health pandemic declared by the Governor of Virginia.
A renewal) inspection was initiated and concluded on 08/05/2020. The in-charge person was contacted by telephone to initiate the inspection. There were (6) children present with (3) staff, in (2) groups. The inspector emailed the in-charge person a list of items required to complete the inspection. The Inspector reviewed (2) children?s records and (2) staff records submitted by the facility to ensure documentation was complete.
Information gathered during the inspection determined (1) non-compliance with applicable standard or law and was documented on the violation notice issued to the facility.

Standard #: 22VAC40-191-60-C-1 Description: Based on review and interview, 1 of 2 staff files indicated that the center did not have an original criminal history record report available for review.
Evidence -
1. On 08/10/20, staff files were sent to the Licensing Inspector (LI) for review. Documents of both Staff #1 and Staff #2 were received. However, the original fingerprint check finding for Staff #1 was not among these files and therefore, was not available for review.
2. The administrator reminded the LI that during the date of inspection (08/05/2020), she stated that she believed that this information was obtained through a "sister" location and she would try to obtain it through them. When asked on what date this information would be available for review, the administrator did not know.Plan of Correction: Further employment for Staff #1 shall be denied until this documentation can be produced and reviewed. If the fingerprint check for Staff #1 cannot be found, then a new finding shall be requested.
