This inspection was conducted by licensing staff using an alternate remote protocol, necessary due to a state of emergency health pandemic declared by the Governor of Virginia.
A renewal inspection was initiated on August 13, 2020 and concluded on August 14, 2020. The director was contacted by telephone to initiate the inspection. There were 37 children present and seven staff. The inspector emailed the director a list of items required to complete the inspection. The Inspector reviewed three children?s records and four staff records submitted by the facility to ensure documentation was complete.
Information gathered during the inspection determined non-compliance(s) with applicable standards or law and violations were documented on the violation notice issued to the facility.

Standard #: 22VAC40-185-140-B Description: Based on a review of children's records, the center did not ensure that one of three children's records contained documentation of a physical examination within the required time period.
Evidence:
The record for child #1 (start date: 08/03/2020) had documentation of a physical examination dated 05/18/2020. Child #1 was under six months of age at the time of enrollment. Physical examinations for children six months of age and younger should be completed within two months prior to attendance.Plan of Correction: Not available online.
