This inspection was conducted by licensing staff using an alternate remote protocol, necessary due to a state of emergency health pandemic declared by the Governor of Virginia. A monitoring inspection was initiated on 8/10/20 and concluded on 8/19/20. The Director was contacted by email to initiate the inspection. There were 46 children present with 9 staff. The inspector emailed the Director a list of items required to complete the inspection. The Inspector reviewed 3 children?s records and 3 staff records submitted by the facility to ensure documentation was complete. Information gathered during the inspection determined non-compliance with applicable standards or law and violations were documented on the violation notice issued to the facility.The Licensing Inspector has reviewed with the provider COVID-19 Essential Guidance for Child Care programs. Standard #: 22VAC40-191-40-D-1-A Description: Based on file review, 2 out of 3 staff records did not have a search of the central registry (SCR) completed within 30 days of employment.
1. Staff #1 and #2 began employment in March 2020 and February 2020, respectively. They did not have completed SCR on file.
Plan of Correction: The Director had sent these to be completed when they were hired, but had not followed up with the department after 30 days. After the LI discussed this, the director contacted the agency and was able to obtain the SCRs on August 19th.
