Comments:
This inspection was conducted by licensing staff using an alternate remote protocol, necessary due to a state of emergency health pandemic declared by the Governor of Virginia.

A monitoring inspection was initiated on 8/6/2020 and concluded on 8/7/2020. The director was contacted by telephone to initiate the inspection. There were 41 children present and 7 staff. The inspector emailed the director a list of items required to complete the inspection. The Inspector reviewed 3 children?s records and3 staff records submitted by the facility to ensure documentation was complete.

Information gathered during the inspection determined non-compliance with applicable standards or law and violations were documented on the violation notice issued to the facility.

Violations:
Standard #: 22VAC40-191-60-C-2
Description: Based on a review of records and interview, the licensee was unable to demonstrate that they obtained the Central Registry findings or each employed staff within 30 days of employment.

Evidence:
Documentation was reviewed from the records of 3 employed staff.
The record for staff #1 did not contain a Central Registry finding.
The director confirmed that this staff's record did not contain results from a Central Record review and that staff #1 had been employed for more than 30 days.

Plan of Correction: The program director stated that the request for a central registry had been sent out but that she was unable to locate the results. The program director stated that she will contact the agency to see if results can be forwarded to her and if not, a new request for a central registry search will be sent out within 5 days.
