This inspection was conducted by licensing staff using an alternate remote protocol, necessary due to a state of emergency health pandemic declared by the Governor of Virginia.
A complaint inspection was initiated on 08/25/2020 and concluded on 08/25/2020.
The complaint received regarded ratios not being met. Information gathered during the inspection determined non-compliance with applicable standards and violations were documented on the violation notice issued to the facility. This complaint was deemed valid.

Standard #: 22VAC40-185-350-C Complaint related: Yes Description: Based on review of documentation provided to the LI, the center failed to maintain compliance with this standard as required on 8/25/2020.
Evidence:
On 8/25/2020 there were 15 children aged infant-toddler combined with only 2 staff from approximately 8:15am-8:30am. The required ratio for this age grouping was 1 staff to 4 children, therefore 4 staff were required during this time.
From 8:30am-8:55am there were 6 children aged infant-toddler in the older infant class with only 1 staff. The required ratio for this grouping was 1 staff to 5 children, therefore 2 staff were required during this time.
From 8:30am-10:00am there were 8 children aged infant-toddler with only 1 staff. The required ratio for this grouping was 1 staff to 5 children, therefore 2 staff were required during this time.Plan of Correction: There were 2 staff who called out on the morning of 8/25/2020. Administration sent other available staff as soon as they were informed that ratios were not able to be met.
Administration has re-looked at the schedule and have adjusted the schedule to ensure that ratios are met early morning and throughout the day and working on subs to help when these situations arise.
