According to the director, the lunch menu had not been updated at the time of the inspection to reflect the substitutions served today. Lunch today consisted of a jelly sandwich, cheese cubes, peaches, banana and milk. USDA regulations requiring both a fruit and vegetable for meals was reviewed with the director. Cheese cubes are considered to be potential choking hazards and must be cut into tiny pieces for children aged three years and younger.
Substitutions on the menu must be updated at the time the substitution is being made so the posted menu for parents is up to date at all times.

This inspection was conducted by licensing staff using an alternate remote protocol, necessary due to a state of emergency health pandemic declared by the Governor of Virginia.
A monitoring inspection was initiated on 9/21/2020 and concluded on 9/24/2020. The director was contacted via email to initiate the inspection. There were 19 children present and 4 staff. The inspector emailed the director a list of items required to complete the inspection. The Inspector reviewed 3 children?s records and 3 staff records submitted by the facility to ensure documentation was complete.
All documents were viewed virtually via Facetime.
The information gathered during the inspection determined no violations with applicable standards or law. No violations were issued.
The Licensing Inspector has reviewed with the provider COVID-19 Essential Guidance for Child Care programs.
