Comments:
This inspection was conducted by staff using an alternative remote protocol, necessary due to a state of emergency health pandemic declared by the Governor of Virginia. An on-site inspection of the center was not conducted at this time however, a portion of the inspection included a virtual component which allowed the inspector to observe the facility and programs in-progress.

An unannounced renewal inspection was conducted at 9:30am. The center was contacted by phone to initiate the inspection, and the Assistant Director participated in the phone interview and virtual inspection. There was 97 children + 16 direct-care staff present, and all were wearing masks. Ratios and supervision were in compliance. Children were observed in a variety of indoor and outdoor activities, and virtual learning. Classrooms were well supplied with toys and equipment for the children. Additional cleaning + sanitizing of the facility and equipment are being implemented, as are other safety measures. Efforts to social distance were apparent. The Director was emailed a list of items required to complete the inspection. Information gathered during the inspection determined there was one area of non-compliances with applicable standards or laws reviewed. Questions about this inspection may be directed to pamela.sneed@dss.virginia.gov
