Technical Assistance:
The Licensing Inspector has reviewed with the provider COVID-19 Essential Guidance for Child Care programs. Social Distancing and sanitizing porous surfaces and toys was discussed.

Comments:
This inspection was conducted by licensing staff using an alternate remote protocol, necessary due to a state of emergency health pandemic declared by the Governor of Virginia. A monitoring inspection was initiated on 09/28/2020 and concluded on 10/01/2020. The owner was contacted by telephone to initiate the inspection. There were 15 children present and 3 staff. The inspector emailed the owner a list of items required to complete the inspection. The Inspector reviewed 3 children?s records and 3 staff records submitted by the facility to ensure documentation was complete. Information gathered during the inspection determined non-compliance(s) with applicable standards or law and violations were documented on the violation notice issued to the facility.

Violations:
Standard #: 22VAC40-185-60-A
Description: Based on a record review the center did not ensure all required information was kept for each enrolled child.
Evidence:
Child #2 (enrolled 09/16/20 and child #3 (enrolled 09/22/20) did not have documentation of having 2 complete emergency contacts. Both Child #2 and #3 had 1 complete emergency cotnact documented in the record.

Plan of Correction: The following plan of correction was provded by the owner during the exit interview:
The owner will obtain complete emergency contacts and document it in the files.

Standard #: 22VAC40-185-520-C
Description: Based on observation the center did not ensure all requirements were met when using diaper cream.
Evidence:
There was a tube of diaper cream on a shelf in the bathroom in reach of children in care.

Plan of Correction: The following plan of correction was provded by the owner during the exit interview:
The diaper ointment was moved to a area out of the reach of children. A cabinet that can be locaked will be purchased.
