This inspection was conducted by licensing staff using an alternate remote protocol, necessary due to a state of emergency health pandemic declared by the Governor of Virginia.
An unannounced renewal inspection was initiated on September 29, 2020 and concluded on September 30, 2020. The assistant director was contacted by telephone to initiate the inspection at 9:30 a.m. A video inspection was conducted beginning at 10:15 a.m. with the director. There were 27 children present and 5 staff. The inspector emailed the director a list of items required to complete the inspection. The Inspector reviewed four children?s records and three staff records submitted by the facility to ensure documentation was complete. Emergency drills were up to date and the monthly menu was reviewed. Annual staff training was reviewed.
Information gathered during the inspection determined non-compliance with applicable standards or law and a violation was documented on the violation notice issued to the facility.
The Licensing Inspector has reviewed with the provider COVID-19 Essential Guidance for Child Care programs.

Standard #: 22VAC40-185-260-B Description: Based on review of documentation, it was determined that the center did not provide documentation of an annual health inspection. Evidence: The most recent health inspection was dated February 5, 2019. Plan of Correction: Center management called the health environment department for the third time and left a message. They reached out to let us know that a supervisor was notified and they should be coming in October.
