Technical Assistance was offered regarding the following: maintaining current background checks including the new requirements for out of state checks; medications.

This inspection was conducted by licensing staff using an alternate remote protocol, necessary due to a state of emergency health pandemic declared by the Governor of Virginia.
A monitoring inspection was initiated and concluded on 9/29/20. The director was contacted by telephone to initiate the inspection. There were 17 children present and 9 staff. The inspector emailed the director a list of items required to complete the inspection. The Inspector reviewed 2 children?s records and 2 staff records submitted by the facility to ensure documentation was complete. Information gathered during the inspection determined non-compliance with applicable standards or law and violations were documented on the violation notice issued to the facility. The Licensing Inspector has reviewed with the provider COVID-19 Essential Guidance for Child Care programs. Standard #: 63.2(17)-1720.1-B-2 Description: Based on staff interview, the center did not obtain finger print results for an employee prior to the first date of employment.
Evidence:
1. Staff # 1 was hired on 12/23/19.
2. Staff # 2 stated that she does not remember if Staff # 1 got the fingerprints done, and if she did Staff # 2 does not remember what happened to those results.Plan of Correction: Staff # 1 was scheduled for an appointment on 10/1/20. Staff # 2 will conduct a follow up with the licensing inspector within ten days of this inspection with an update.
