Legislative changes effective July 1st reviewed to include new out-of-state background check requirements for staff.
Standard 599.B.3.c reviewed:
A nonabsorbent surface for diapering or changing shall be used. For children younger than three years, this surface shall be a changing table or countertop designated for changing.
*A pull-up is considered a diaper and must be treated as such when changing a child.

This inspection was conducted by licensing staff using an alternate protocol, necessary due to a state of emergency health pandemic declared by the Governor of Virginia.
A monitoring inspection was initiated on 10/14/2020 and concluded on 10/21/2020. The director was contacted by telephone to initiate the inspection. There were 42 children present and 8 staff. The inspector emailed the director a list of items required to complete the inspection. The inspector reviewed 3 staff records and 3 children's records submitted by the facility to ensure documentation was complete. The inspector additionally investigated a report of a serious injury that occurred on 10/16/2020.
The information gathered during the inspection determined no violations with applicable standards or law. No violations were issued.
The licensing inspector has reviewed with the provider COVID-19 Essential Guidance for Child Care Programs.
