This inspection was conducted by licensing staff using an alternate remote protocol, necessary due to a state of emergency health pandemic declared by the Governor of Virginia.
A subsidy health and safety inspection was initiated on October 14, 2020 and concluded on October 16, 2020. The coordinator was contacted by telephone to initiate the inspection. There were 41 children present and 6 staff. A licensing inspection was conducted on the same date as the SHSI supplemental inspection. Both inspections combined cover subsidy health and safety regulations. Only subsidy regulations that are not covered in licensing standards are reviewed during this supplemental inspection. The information gathered during the inspection determined non-compliance(s) with subsidy regulations, and violations were documented on the violation notice issued to the facility.

Standard #: 22VAC40-665-500-F Description: Based on documentation review and staff interviews, the vendor shall maintain, in a way that is accessible to all staff who work with children, a current written list of all children's allergies, sensitivities, and dietary restrictions. This list shall be dated and kept confidential in each room or area where children are present.
Evidence: Staff #2 confirmed during interview that child #1 had a milk sensitivity and there was not a written list with the child's food sensitivity.Plan of Correction: The center director will ensure that anyone working in kitchen will know where all food sensitivity and allergies are posted.
