63.2(17) License & Registration Procedures
This inspection was conducted by licensing staff using an alternate remote protocol, necessary due to a state of emergency health pandemic declared by the Governor of Virginia.
A monitoring inspection was initiated on 11/5/2020 and concluded on 11/5/2020. The director was contacted by telephone to initiate the inspection. There were 23 children present and 9 staff. The inspector emailed the director a list of items required to complete the inspection. The Inspector reviewed 3 children?s records and 3 staff records submitted by the facility to ensure documentation was complete.
Information gathered during the inspection determined non-compliance with applicable standards or law and violations were documented on the violation notice issued to the facility.
The Licensing Inspector has reviewed with the provider COVID-19 Essential Guidance for Child Care programs.

Standard #: 63.2(17)-1720.1-A Description: Based on review of three staff files and staff interview, the facility failed to have documentation of repeat background checks within 5 years as required. Evidence: Staff A did not have documentation of a repeat sworn disclosure statement (expired 3/30/2020) or a repeat search of the central registry (CPS check) (expired 4/21/2020). Staff C did not have documentation of a repeat sworn disclosure statement (expired 8/27/2020). Plan of Correction: Background checks will be repeated every 5 years.
