Provided consultation on: COVID-19 Phase III Guidance Update
While masks are not required for children in child care, the essential guidance issued by the Department of Social Services on 09/25/2020, based on CDC recommendations, strongly recommends that children 2 years of age and older wear a face covering. This is a best practice that will decrease the risk of COVID-19 transmission when children and caregivers are in close proximity.
Provided consultation on background checks:
All existing employees who have lived in another state within the past five years must complete a state criminal history name check and sex offender registry check from the other state. Results must be received before December 31, 2020.
All employees (who have lived in another state within the past five years) hired after July 1, 2020 must have this criminal history name check and sex offender registry check prior to employment.

This inspection was conducted by licensing staff using an alternate remote protocol, necessary due to a state of emergency health pandemic declared by the Governor of Virginia.
A renewal inspection was conducted on 11/20/2020. The director was contacted by telephone and a virtual inspection was conducted. There were 91 children present, ages 3 months - ten years of age, with 15 staff supervising. The Inspector reviewed five children's records, five staff records, four medications and authorization forms, the emergency drill log, meals and snacks, naptime , the first aid kit, and daily indoor and outdoor activities. The information gathered during the inspection determined no violations with applicable standards or law. No violations were issued.
