Provided consultation on:
1) Within 90 days of hire, all staff must complete the Virginia Preservice (10-hour) Training for Child Care Staff. The (3-hour) Virginia Annual Health and Safety Update Training must be completed within one year from the date on the Virginia Preservice Training certificate.
2) Documentation of the TB test/screening shall be submitted at the time of employment and prior to coming into contact with children. The documentation shall have been completed within the last 30 calendar days of the date of employment and be signed by a physician, physician's designee, or an official of the local health department.

This inspection was conducted by licensing staff using an alternate remote protocol, necessary due to a state of emergency health pandemic declared by the Governor of Virginia.
A subsidy health and safety inspection (SHSI) was conducted on 12/4/2020 with an exit interview on 12/7/2020. The director was contacted by telephone to initiate the inspection. There were 66 children present with ten staff supervising. A licensing inspection was also conducted on this date. Both inspections combined cover subsidy health and safety regulations. Only subsidy regulations that are not covered in licensing standards are reviewed during this supplemental inspection.

Standard #: 22VAC40-665-540-A Description: Based on review of four staff records, it was determined that not all staff had documentation that the individual was determined to be free of communicable tuberculosis (TB) submitted at the time of employment and prior to coming in contact with children. Evidence: the record for staff #4 (date of hire: 11/18/2019) had a TB test/screening dated: 1/15/2020. Plan of Correction: All staff will have their file complete before going to another location for their training.
