This inspection was conducted by licensing staff using an alternate remote protocol, necessary due to a state of emergency health pandemic declared by the Governor of Virginia.
A renewal inspection was initiated on 12/09/2020 and concluded on 12/10/2020. The director was contacted by telephone to initiate the inspection. There were 22 children present and 6 staff. The inspector emailed the director a list of items required to complete the inspection. The Inspector reviewed 3 children?s records, 3 staff records and 1 board officer's record submitted by the facility to ensure documentation was complete.
Information gathered during the inspection determined non-compliance with applicable standards or law and violations were documented on the violation notice issued to the facility.
The Licensing Inspector has reviewed with the provider COVID-19 Essential Guidance for Child Care programs.

Standard #: 22VAC40-191-40-D-1-C Description: Based on record review, the center failed to ensure all repeat background checks were obtained every five years.
Evidence:
1. The inspector reviewed one board officer's record. Board officer's record #1 contained a search of the central registry check that was dated 12/18/2012.Plan of Correction: The human resource director completed a new request for a search of the central registry for board officer #1 and forwarded a copy to the licensing office. When the results of the search are obtained, a copy will be sent to the licensing office.
