This inspection was conducted by licensing staff using an alternate remote protocol, necessary due to a state of emergency health pandemic declared by the Governor of Virginia. A monitoring inspection was initiated on 11/14/2020 and concluded on 11/21/2020. The director was contacted by phone to initiate the inspection. There were 27 children present and 12 staff present. The inspector emailed the director a list of items required to complete the inspection. The inspector reviewed 2 children?s records and 7 staff records submitted by the facility to ensure documentation was complete. The licensing inspector has reviewed with the provider COVID-19 Essential Guidance for Child Care programs. Information gathered during the inspection determined non-compliance with the applicable standards or law and violations were documented on the violation notice issued to the facility. Standard #: 63.2(17)-1721.1-B-4 Description: Based on record review, the center did not obtain required out of state background checks prior to employment.
Evidence:
1. The director reviewed three staff records who had lived in other states within the last 5 years. Staff #1, staff #2 and staff #3 had lived out of state the last 5 years and the background checks had not been completed.Plan of Correction: The employees have completed the paperwork for these checks to be completed.
